Born in Carson, California, Samuel Hill, has adopted the rap moniker TRUF as he uses his music to define what it means to be true to what he believes. His love for hip hop came from his family’s connection with music and influences from artists like 2pac, Eminem, Jay-Z, Nas, Notorious Big, DMX and Snoop Dogg. He is the creator of Life/Hustle music, a sub-genre of rap that holds true to penning bars that stand on what he lives. TRUF isn’t simply reciting rhymes that create a fake persona of himself, but every word comes from a place of experience. His songs go beyond simply rapping about what’s catchy or routine but puts his life as a businessman and entrepreneur at the forefront of his music. He has refined his craft to perfection and still excelling past his limits. With TRUF, what you get is a mix of styles that can vary from aggressive, or calm based on the mood of the beat.
