Tea Sea Rising Artist

Whether it is the depth of the metaphors or the pull of the grooves in Tea Sea’s melodic RnB Trap track, ‘Vitals’, you’ll recognize the rising artist’s ability to evoke emotion with their contemporary all-baring style. The Odenton, MD-based rapper and singer’s passion for the written word runs as deep as his love for RnB and soul. Paired with his tendency never to let a psychological stone go unturned when penning lyrical attacks, his tracks are as intimate as they are insightful.Rather than relying on melodic hooks, Tea Sea ensures that his melodies consistently offer emotion when they are in line with his energetic cadence.By taking influence from artists such as Kid Cudi, Future and Lil Wayne as well as video games, manga and anime, his sound naturally boasts a vivid and psychedelic colour palette.

“Vitals was inspired by a woman who stirred feelings in me that I never really felt before.People tend to focus on the positive aspects of falling in love, but there are uncomfortable, vulnerable emotions that surface at the beginning that can trigger a certain sort of mental mania – especially for over thinkers.”

Norfolk, VA-born Odenton, MD-residing artist Tea Sea made his debut in 2018 with his independent mix-tape, ‘Kaleidoscope Jellyfish’. Before his debut, he was a spoken word poet, performing at events such as the 2012 Festival Internationale de Louisiane and publishing his lyrics in poetry anthologies. The 2020 lock down may have dampened Tea Sea’s plans to take his collection of meta-poetry-wielding tracks to live stages, but it hasn’t hindered his creativity, as seen by his string of successful 2021 releases, including the hotly anticipated single, Vitals, that was recorded at Aesthete Recording studio and features instrumentals from Zebra Tiger. With an LP in the works, Tea Sea and his parallel-packed sound is set to take the scene by storm and flood the airwaves with immersive synesthesia.
